Created in 1996, the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy is a national signature program designed for young girls ages 11-14 to enrich and enhance their educational and cultural experiences, and to prepare each young girl for leadership in the 21st Century.
Our chapter’s Academy theme “The Transformation of Me – Knowing Me, Developing Me, and Preparing Me” reflects the current issues and trends of middle school-aged girls and fosters an environment for building self-esteem, interpersonal skills development, and individual growth.
The Delta Academy program includes interactive and engaging activities, guest speakers, and a positive and encouraging environment.
Participation is free however space is limited, and spots fill quickly. A parent/caregiver of each participant must complete an application and approve participation.
Applications for the 2026-2027 program are open through October 31, 2026 or until capacity has been reached.
